- Tomato - 6 ripe, medium size
- Red chilies - 4
- Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Urad Dal - 1 tsp
- Hing - 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves - few
- Oil for seasoning
Cooking Procedure:
- Cut tomatoes into small cubes.
- Heat oil in a pan and season mustard seeds and urad dal.
- Add curry leaves and chilies.
- Fry for a minute. Add the cubed tomatoes, salt and red chili powder.
- Saute for 2 mins until the tomatoes become tender and smushy.
- Add a 1 1/2 cups of water and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Serve hot with idli or dosas.
